Ed Kosowski

The Fox affiliate in Sacramento has hired its next news director.

Ed Kosowski is returning to California to become news director at KTXL Fox 40 in Sacramento, it was announced April 16 by Rick Gevers of Rick Gevers & Associates, whose firm tracks television news management hirings throughout the nation.

Kosowski has been serving as news director of KETK-TV in Tyler, Texas, since 2016. Both stations are owned by Nexstar, so it is a promotion from within the company for Kosowski.

Northern California, and specifically the San Francisco Bay Area, is familiar territory for Kosowski. He served as news director of KGO-TV ABC7 in San Francisco from 1998 to 2001. In addition to San Francisco, he has also been a news director for WHDH in Boston, KDVR in Denver and KCTV in Kansas City. Kosowski also served as an executive producer for CNBC from 2005 to 2011.
